ShopReady Toolbelt: Privacy Policy

Effective October 24, 2026.

ShopReady Toolbelt is a construction calculator that works offline. We (ShopReady, the developer) run no server for the app and receive none of your data: no account, no ads, no tracking, no analytics. The only times anything leaves your device are the ones listed below, and each one starts with something you choose to do.

What the app uses, and why

  • Your saved work stays on your device: jobs, rooms, windows and doors, saved sketches, drawings, notes, material prices, the offcut rack, favorites, your defaults and settings. Deleting the app deletes them. They leave the device only when you export them yourself: a backup file when you tap Back up, or a job PDF or text when you tap Share. Either goes only where you send it.
  • Camera is used live for the angle finder, plumb camera and flashlight. No photos or video are taken or saved.
  • Microphone is used live for the sound meter, which only measures how loud it is. To read the level, the device’s recorder has to write a short temporary audio file in the app’s cache while you measure. It is deleted as soon as you stop (and when you leave the meter or switch apps), it is never played back, kept or shared, and it never leaves your phone (or tablet).
  • Talking into a note uses the device’s own speech recognition, on the device: the words go into your note and the sound isn’t kept. A device that can’t recognize your language by itself asks you first; only if you agree, the device’s own speech service (Apple’s on iPhone and iPad, Google’s on Android) turns the speech into text under that company’s privacy terms. You can say no and type instead.
  • Location is used on the device to point the compass at true north and to work out the sun angle, and to add where you are to a note when you tap Here. For Here, the device’s own address lookup turns the position into a street address, which may ask the device maker’s maps service (Apple’s or Google’s). Location is not stored anywhere except in that note.
  • Motion sensors are used on the device for the level, angle finder and compass. Nothing is kept.
  • Sharing (text, PDF, picture, backup, drawing or project file) only happens when you tap Share, Send or Back up, and goes to the app or person you choose. If you switch on Share live with Field for a job, the job is kept as a file in a folder on your device that the ShopReady apps share (on iPhone and iPad, the apps’ shared App Group; on Android, a folder you pick). It stays on your device.
  • Purchases (the Monthly plan and Lifetime) are made through the store you installed the app from (the App Store or Google Play). The store handles the payment under its own privacy terms; the app only asks the store whether a plan is active. We never see your name, card or store account. The free trial’s start date is kept on your device (on iPhone and iPad the trial is also a free App Store item, so the App Store records when you started it).

Sharing with others

We don’t sell, rent or share your data with anyone, and the app contains no advertising or analytics code. The only other companies involved are the ones named above (the device’s speech service if you agree to online recognition, the device’s address lookup when you tap Here, and the store for purchases), each under its own privacy terms.

Keeping and deleting

Everything the app keeps is on your device. Delete a job, note or drawing in the app to remove it, or delete the app to remove everything. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing for us to delete on a server; if you have questions, write to us below.

Your choices

Camera, microphone, speech recognition, location and motion access are asked for when you first use a feature that needs them, and you can turn any of them off at any time in the device’s Settings. The app’s other features keep working without them.

Children

The app is a work tool and doesn’t knowingly collect anything from anyone, including children.
